WE ARE LOOKING FOR SENIOR EMBEDDED IoT GATEWAY DEVELOPER TO JOIN EVERON AT TURKU

As a Senior Embedded IoT Gateway Developer at Everon, you will focus on developing and optimizing the application layer for our Linux-based IoT gateway devices. These devices are integral to our social care solutions, and your expertise will help ensure their smooth integration, enhanced performance, and reliable communication with cloud services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance, and contribute to continuously improving our innovative solutions. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Develop application software: Design, implement, and maintain the application layer for Everon’s IoT gateway devices, ensuring seamless integration with device functionality and alignment with our social care solutions. 
  • Integrate system components: Work closely with the hardware and software teams to integrate the IoT gateway into Everon’s overall system architecture and resolve any functional and performance issues. 
  • Manage cloud communication: Develop and maintain secure, reliable communication protocols between IoT gateways and cloud services, optimising data transmission and handling integration challenges. 
  • Optimise performance: Continuously analyse and enhance the gateway application to improve responsiveness, reliability, and efficiency, aligning with Everon’s standards. 
  • Collaborate across teams: As a Developer at Everon, you will be an integral part of our cross-functional teams, working closely with hardware engineers and product managers. You will align gateway development with Everon’s project objectives and provide technical guidance.
  • Document and report: Create and maintain detailed documentation of development processes, integration activities, and communication protocols. Report regularly on progress, challenges, and solutions. 
  • Ensure quality: Everon is committed to delivering high-quality products. As a Developer, you will play a key role in this by conducting comprehensive testing and validation to ensure the gateway application meets our quality standards and performs effectively in real-world conditions.

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded systems development, with a strong focus on application-level programming for IoT devices. Experience in the social care sector or similar domains is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in languages such as C, C++, or Python for embedded systems development.
  • Experience with integrating and optimising IoT devices.
  • Proficiency in embedded Linux distributions (preferably Buildroot)
  • Understanding cloud communication protocols (e.g., MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with IoT standards and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Preferably experience working with ci/cd pipeline in the past. 

We are looking for someone with solid communication and collaboration skills who can work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results are also essential in this role.

Total compensation depends on your skills. We will discuss about the salary basis at our first meeting (we are currently developing our compensation model).
